Milan, Italy

The first photo is our couchette, where we enjoyed a lovely night's sleep on the way from Paris to Milan. There were six of us sleeping in this little space.
The Duomo is one of the largest in the world (it's 514 ft long). We were really looking forward to the beautiful front facade, but instead we found it covered in scaffolding. Disappointed, we ended up buying postcards with photos of the Duomo. The interior is quite nice with its stained glass.

Castello Sforzesco is a very foreboding building with a fountain in front, but once you enter you find that the castle is wrapped around a large interior courtyard. Set up in the courtyard was a large display describing (in great detail) the history of the castle. Inside the castle, we visited the collection of archaelogy and applied arts. There was a wonderful assortment of beautifully decorated pianos.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a wonderful shopping arcade with a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants. There was a large Christmas tree decorated with Swavorski crystals that sparkled in the light
.
